Genesis 25:23-26 – בְּרֵאשִׁית כד, כג-כו

Rebekah gave birth to two nations the younger son followed God his name was Jacob. The older son Esau did not follow after God.
From now on we will follow the life of Jacob and his family with the odd mention of Esau. Let us see how Jacob’s life unfolds as he works with the Lord God of the universe as we read the Tanakh.
How often has God chosen the younger over the older can you think of any other occasions in scripture.

 רבקה ילדה שני עמים שהצעיר הלך בעקבות אלוהים ושמו יעקב. עשיו הבן המבוגר לא הלך אחרי אלוהים.
מעתה והלאה אנו נעקוב אחרי חייו של יעקב ומשפחתו עם האיזכור המוזר של עשיו.הבה נראה כיצד חייו של יעקב מתגלים כאשר הוא עובד את האל ריבון העולם כפי שאנו קוראים את התנ”ך.

לפעמים אלוהים בחר בבן הצעיר מעל המבוגר.

And the LORD said unto Rebekah, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

עשו ויעקב

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לָהּ, שְׁנֵי גֹיִים בְּבִטְנֵךְ, וּשְׁנֵי לְאֻמִּים, מִמֵּעַיִךְ יִפָּרֵדוּ; וּלְאֹם מִלְאֹם יֶאֱמָץ, וְרַב יַעֲבֹד צָעִיר.

וַיִּמְלְאוּ יָמֶיהָ, לָלֶדֶת; וְהִנֵּה תוֹמִם, בְּבִטְנָהּ.

וַיֵּצֵא הָרִאשׁוֹן אַדְמוֹנִי, כֻּלּוֹ כְּאַדֶּרֶת שֵׂעָר; וַיִּקְרְאוּ שְׁמוֹ, עֵשָׂו.

וְאַחֲרֵי-כֵן יָצָא אָחִיו, וְיָדוֹ אֹחֶזֶת בַּעֲקֵב עֵשָׂו, וַיִּקְרָא שְׁמוֹ, יַעֲקֹב; וְיִצְחָק בֶּן-שִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה, בְּלֶדֶת אֹתָם.
