Death of Joseph, Genesis 50:24-26 – מות יוסף, בְּרֵאשִׁית נ, כד-כו

Joseph was the one whose dreams from God came true. He was also able to interpret other people’s dreams. Joseph was 30 years old when the Pharaoh of Egypt made him Second in Charge.

He died at one hundred and ten years old in Egypt. His bones were taken back to the land of his birth when Moses lead the people out of Egypt about 400 years later. Exodus 13:19.

Joseph looked after his brothers and their families even after his brothers tried to harm him when he was still a teenager. Joseph was a still a very powerful man in Egypt.

Jacob promised to Joseph he as a people would go back to the land and Jacob would give to Joseph one portion more than to his brothers. The portion being the ridge of land that he took from the Amorties with his sword and bow.

יוסף היה אדם שחלומותיו מאלוהים התגשמו. הוא הצליח גם לפרש חלומות של אנשים אחרים.
יוסף היה בן 30 כאשר פרעוה המצרי מנה אותו למשנה לשליט.

הוא מת במצרים בגיל מאה ועשר שנים. עצמותיו נלקחו לארץ למולדתו על ידי משה כ-400 שנה מאוחר יותר באשר הוא הוציא את העם ממצרים. שמות יג: יט.

יוסף דאג לאחיו ובני משפחותיהם גם לאחר שאחיו ניסו לפגוע בו עוד בהיותו נער. יוסף היה איש חזק מאוד במצרים.

יעקב הבטיח ליוסף לתת לבניו שני חלקים יותר מאשר לאחיו. את החלק שהוא מבטיח ליוסף הוא כבש מהאמורי בקשת וחרב.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he swear to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
