Anna the Prophetess

Anna had some words about what Jesus would do in His life here on Earth.
Anna was a very devoted old lady who lived in the Temple in Jerusalem, spending her days in fasting and prayer.

Anna, like a lot of Jews at the time, was waiting for the arrival of the Messiah.

She said, “This baby is the Messiah everyone is waiting for.”

In Hebrew, Anna or, Hannah means: favor or grace.
Anna is one of the Greek and Latin variants of the Hebrew name Hannah or Channah.

Background Reading: – Anna the prophetess

36 Now Anna, a prophetess, was also there. She was a descendant of Phanuel from the tribe of Asher. She was very old, having lived with her husband for seven years after her marriage, 37 and then as a widow for 84 years. She never left the Temple, but continued to worship there night and day with times of fasting and prayer. 38 Just then she came forward and began to thank God and to speak about Jesus to everyone who was waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
Luke 2:36-38
