Revelation 8:1. Jesus opens the seventh seal. Remember Jesus had just opened the other six seals on the scroll.
A few verses earlier, in Revelation 5:6, Jesus had been given the title of The Lamb that was Slain because he had died for mankind.
To emphasize that this action was very important, there was silence in heaven for about a half an hour.
