John 8:12. By saying “I Am,” Jesus was telling people that He was God. A number of Jewish leaders believed He was not the Messiah because He lived in Nazareth. However, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and where was the Messiah to be born of the line of King David? Yes, Bethlehem.
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world”. Jesus was saying, “Follow Me and not others. See Me and believe on Me. In Me you see God.
If you will follow Me you will always walk in my light.
Jesus was now teaching the crowds only in parables, so they could hear but not understand. Only to His disciples was Jesus explaining His teachings, as He continued to train them.
